Sex O'Clock

Sex O’Clock – 28% Of Men Think About Sex 288 Times A Day

New Research Shows That Men Are 3 Times More Likely Than Women To Think About Sex Every 5 Minutes.

In one of the largest studies to date, more than 21,000 members of the free online dating website Smooch.com were asked how often they thought about sex. Whilst 28% of men allowed their minds to wander every 5 minutes, only 8% of women had such active imaginations.

An additional 28% of men admitted to sexual thoughts every hour compared to just 13% of women; this means not only are men 3 times more likely than women to think about sex every 5 minutes, but twice as likely to think about it every hour.

However, whilst 92% of men think about sex on a daily basis, a third of the women surveyed thought about sex far less often. 1 in 4 women think about sex once a week whilst only 3 in 50 men have such idle minds. Furthermore, 1 in 10 women succumb to temptation just once a month compared to 1 in 50 men.

In addition, according to the statistics, as people age, thoughts of a sexual nature decrease. People aged 25-30 have the most active minds with 25% of members in that age group admitting to sexual thoughts every 5 minutes, whilst 43% of those aged 61+ thought about sex every few hours.

Smooch surveys are extremely detailed, incorporating information about the respondents as detailed as height, weight and education, allowing us to uncover the following unusual facts:

  • Sex and marriage do not go hand in hand, only 14% of those in search of marriage thought about sex every hour.
  • People with the star sign Aries were the most likely (26%) to think about sex every 5 minutes whilst Gemini was the most prudish star sign.
  • Kingston is the horniest city in the UK with 45% of the inhabitants thinking about sex every 5 minutes. In contrast, the population of Redbridge rarely indulge their saucy side and are the most likely (17%) to think about sex just once a month.
  • Everyone knows smoking is bad for your health, but it clearly works wonders for the libido. Heavy smokers were more likely (24%) than non-smokers to think about sex every 5 minutes.
  • Who says money can’t buy happiness? For 31% of high wage earners happiness is just 5 minutes away, whilst those with a low range salary were the least likely to think about sex every 5 minutes.

Research:
Smooch.com polled 21,159 members over a 5 day period. Members responses remain anonymous, however, detailed statistics such as age, height, weight, build, attractiveness, hair colour, hair style, facial hair, drinking and smoking habits, education, salary and even star sign are readily available on request.

Does Size Matter?

by Julia 10th March 2010 07:26

All Good Men Come With Big Packages

3 in 5 Men Underestimate The Importance Of Size

Does size matter? A basic Google search will give you over 70,000,000 possible sources to solve the debate, but a recent survey by Smooch.com shows that 64% of men underestimate the importance of size.

Over 4,000 members of the free online dating website Smooch.com were asked whether size really mattered. The data highlighted that 25% more women than men believed that size does matter.

Some may suggest that size does not matter within a loving, long-term relationship, but they’d be wrong. Surprisingly, women who were looking for romance and marriage online were the most size conscious. Whilst 50% of those looking for marriage and 47% of those looking or romance said that size did matter, those looking for ‘fun’ were the least concerned (40%) by the size.

Intriguingly, the results also appear to validate the theory that men who drive around in big flashy cars are over-compensating for something else. Men with a high-range salary were the most likely (45%) to believe that size does matter.

Smooch surveys are extremely detailed, incorporating information about its respondents as detailed as height, weight and education, allowing us to compile the ultimate man-ual to help men find their perfect fit:

Modern Wooing

by Julia 15th February 2010 05:11

Roses R Dead, Poems R 2, Chocol8 Iz Boring, But Txting Will Woo

Spontaneous texts are more popular with single men and women than the traditional flowers, chocolates and poems.

Valentine’s Day may have only just passed but for 7 million single Brits that means 364 days left to begin wooing next year’s sweetheart. A recent survey carried out by free online dating website Smooch.com revealed that spontaneous texts and emails were a more popular way to woo a potential partner than the traditional flowers, chocolates and poems.

Smooch polled over 14,000 members to find out the best way to woo a potential partner. 44% of members felt that a romantic meal was the most effective way to woo someone, followed by spontaneous texts and emails (25%). Whilst only 17% of members felt that flowers and chocolates were the best way to win someone’s heart.

The least effective wooing techniques were poems or songs (8%) and ‘naughty’ gifts, photos or texts (7%). So whilst edible knickers and a saucy snapshot are unlikely to make your date weak at the knees, reciting a Shakespearean sonnet may prove just as fruitless.

Intriguingly, men were more likely than women to choose flowers, poems, dinner and naughty photos or gifts. In contrast, women (36%) were more than twice as likely as men (16%) to choose spontaneous texts and emails. Arguably, men are still opting for the traditional, tried and tested methods to woo the ladies, whilst women appear to want something less clichéd and more original.

Salary also played a part in a person’s wooing preference. Romantic dinners were the top choice for 47% of those with a high salary. Low range earners were the most likely to choose spontaneous texts or emails. Finally, gifts and texts that would make your mother blush were most popular with those who had a very high range salary – gold plated, diamond encrusted handcuffs anyone?

Additional information:

Smooch surveys are extremely detailed, incorporating information about its respondents as detailed as facial hair and weight, allowing us to unearth the following strange facts:

  • Younger members were the most likely (27%) to choose texts and emails as the best way to woo a lover, whilst older members were the most likely (56%) to opt for a romantic dinner.

  • Members who described themselves as stunning were more than 3 times as likely (19%) as those who were average looking (6%) to send a naughty gift, photo or text.

  • Muscular members were the most likely to select naughty photos, gifts or texts.

  • Virgos may not be so virginal as they were the most likely star sign to choose something saucy. Whilst Aquarians were most likely to send spontaneous texts or emails.

Research:

Smooch.com polled 14,786 members over a three day period. Members responses remain anonymous, however, detailed statistics such as age, height, weight, build, attractiveness, hair colour, hair style, facial hair, drinking and smoking habits, education, salary and even star sign are readily available on request.

Lust & Marriage

by Julia 15th January 2010 05:37

Lust & Marriage – 52% Of Men Would Say

‘I Do, Ooh, Ooh, Ooh’ To A Porn Star

Results from a series of studies conducted by free dating website Smooch.com reveal that men are 7 times more likely than women to date and marry a porn star.

Members of the website were asked the question, ‘Would you date a porn star?’. More than half the men surveyed said they would date a porn star compared to only 7% of women. Unsurprisingly, those who said they were using dating sites for “fun” were the most likely (58%) to date a porn star.

Having establshed the nation’s willingness to date a porn star, Smooch asked members whether they would be willing to marry one. Whilst the percentage of those willing to marry a porn star declined, surprisingly nearly 30% of men said they would marry a porn star. Nevertheless, the ratio between men and women remained the same; as with dating a porn star, seven times more men (28%) said they would marry a porn star than women (4%).

Arguably, although more members would choose to date a porn star, than to marry one, the results suggest that not all of the members who would date a porn star were motivated by sexual desire. Thus it would appear that in a reversal of the historically traditional position, men are more accepting of a ‘sexually experienced’ partner than women.

Additional information:
Smooch surveys are extremely detailed, incorporating information about its respondents as detailed as facial hair and weight, allowing us to unearth the following strange facts.

  • Moustaches were arguably a requirement for men in the adult industry during the 70s. Nowadays, men with beards are more than twice as likely to date a porn star than men with moustaches.

  • Think “lad’s mag” centrefold and you instantly think blonde; however only 23% of blondes would date a porn star compared to 40% of those with black hair.

  • People who described themselves as average looking were less likely to marry a porn star (19%) compared to 38% of users who described themselves as ‘stunning’.

  • Low wage earners are far less likely (25%) to fantasize about the plumber than those with a high range salary (64%).

Members aged 31-35 were the most likely to date a porn star (42%), and those aged 36-40 were the most likely to marry a porn star (24%). Either side of these age groups agreement gradually declines, though it is unlikely for the same reasons.

Research:
Smooch.com polled 2,909 members over a 12 hour period for the first survey, and 1,085 members in the follow up study.

Sex and the Settee

Sex and the Settee – 18 Times More Men Go Online For Sex

A new survey by Smooch.com reveals that men are 18 times more likely than women to use dating websites for sex

It should come as no surprise that what men want couldn't be more different than what women want. Members of the free online dating website Smooch.com were asked what their main reason was for using the internet dating. 18% of men claimed that sex was their main objective, compared to only 1% of women.

Feeling flirty at thirty, or naughty at forty? You're not alone, according to the survey, respondents aged 25-30 were the most likely to go online for sex, closely followed by those aged 36-40.

Nevertheless, the majority of men and women reported to use dating websites to search for a relationship rather than friendship, dates or sex. More than half of the women surveyed (56%) said they used such websites with the hope of finding a relationship. Similarly, 42% of men polled used the site to find a long term partner.

Members of the free gay chat website ManCentral.com were also asked to define their main reason for using internet dating. Just under half of the men (45%) surveyed admitted to using dating websites for sex, more than double that of the men on Smooch. In addition, only a fifth of members of the website claimed to use online dating to find a long-term partner.

The survey was extremely detailed and revealed some intriguing, if not bizarre, facts about income, height and facial hair in relation to their motives on dating websites:

  • Women in search of a relationship should steer clear of men with beards; men with full beards were most likely (38%) to use the internet for sex. However, men with sideburns are most likely (55%) to look for a relationship online.

  • Taller people are more likely to use internet dating websites for sex, whereas shorter people are most likely to be in search of a relationship.

  • High-earners were the most likely to use internet dating for sex (42%). In contrast, low-earners were more likely to seek a relationship (57%).

Those looking for a relationship in Middlesbrough are likely to find little success in the local bar with 86% of members from Middlesbrough looking for a relationship on Smooch.com. For the more promiscuous and liberal members, look no further than Stoke-on-Trent and Wolverhampton.

Research:

Smooch.com polled 3,744 members and ManCentral.com polled 3,236 members over a 24 hour period. Detailed statistics & breakdowns available on request. Members who answered the surveys remained anonymous to ensure an honest and accurate response.
